Is this a young bird learning to fly? If you try to pick it up, are other birds calling at you? Consider that this may be a fledgling that doesn't need help, and should not be kidnapped! Mission: To Preserve Local Native Wildlife through Rehabilitation, Research, and Education. Blue Mountain Wildlife is the premier wildlife rehabilitation facility in eastern Oregon, serving an area the size of New York state.
Since 1990, BMW has cared for over 10,000 animals, primarily raptors. Blue Mountain Wildlife also educates over 10,000 local students and community members each year.

Who We Are
Report
The Blue Mountain Wildlife team is comprised of individuals passionate about BMW's mission, with each member having significant rehab and/or education experience, as well as experience in their respective fields. Meet the team below. Working as a veterinary technician in the 1980s, Lynn became involved in wildlife rehabilitation.
What We Do
Report
Rehabilitation: Orphaned, injured, and sick wildlife are provided the necessary treatment and care to enable their return to their natural habitats. Research: We lend information about our raptors to various research groups in order to increase the understanding of these birds. Education: Educational programs and outreach initiatives enhance people's understanding of the impact their actions have on wildlife and the natural environment.
About the Programs
Report
BMW's education team travels throughout the region taking non-releasable raptors to classrooms, outdoor schools, service organizations, and more. Participants will learn about the raptors' life histories, their role in a healthy environment, and our role in helping to maintain a harmonious coexistence with our native wildlife.
Meet the Birds
Report
Not all birds who make their way to Blue Mountain Wildlife can be released. The situations and behaviors of some unreleasable birds, though, make them perfect education birds. Blue Mountain Wildlife houses a variety of education birds, using them to teach people about the importance of these raptors.
Take a Tour
Report
Facility tours are an important part of our education program, allowing anyone and everyone to get an idea of what we, at BMW, do. On our tour, you will meet many of our resident birds, including those used for education programs. Tours are free, though we appreciate a donation for our time and to show your support for our mission.
