Here is an interesting reflection and history of Fasteners Inc. from the owner and founder. When asked why they opened a fastener company, John and Helen Walker simply reply, "We thought selling nuts and bolts might be a good business to get into".
In 1965 The Walkers moved into their first warehouse, a building in Denver on 5th Ave by the Colfax viaduct with five kegs of nuts and bolts, a couple of desks and a sign reading Fasteners, Incorporated.John worked evenings and weekends while he continued a career with Samsonite as an engineer. Helen worked full time at the office splitting her time as buyer, order packer, sales staff, driver and book keeper.
