Firebacks also act as a heat shield to protect your fireplace's back wall against fatigue. The use of a fireback is required in all types of factory built and or metal fireplaces to limit heat transfer when using the vertical Wall of Fire grate.

Our steel economy firebacks are a cheaper alternative to our high quality reflective firebacks. They shield the lower portion of your fireplace's back wall from excessive ember heat. This is the area where most fireplaces become damaged after several years of steady use.
A fireback is usually an optional component in correctly built masonry fireplaces however, firebacks are required in all pre-fabricated, condominium style, and metal units when using a Wall of Fire grate.All economy firebacks are made from 3/8" thick shatter-proof steel and are 10" tall.
