His experience having had over a decade of experience as a mate for several premier captains native to Chesapeake Bay, Steve has the necessary experience and technical knowledge needed to help you get the best fish catches.

Lucky Strike Fishing Charters will provide you with the one of Maryland's best charter boats named 'Taurus'. Measuring 40'longx14' 6wide, 'Taurus' is a very stable and robust charter boat. Captain Steve Barko built the boat and was launched during the fall of 2004. Our boat is fast with a tremendous amount of comfort, stability, making your charter safe and enjoyable.

Full Day Charters - A full day charter offers the angler time to target more than one species of fish. For Example, we might start the morning by targeting Rockfish or Stripers and when we have reached our limit, we would look for Bluefish, Flounder or whatever you may be interested in. A full day charters allows time to run longer distances to get to better action or a better grade of fish.

We depart from several locations throughout the year. This is done to follow fish either entering or leaving the Chesapeake and also target other types of fish in the summer months. We dock in Solomons, Maryland and Virginia Beach, Virginia depending on season. Solomons is the location where we depart from most of the fishing season, beginning in April and ending in November.

Fishing Season for the Chesapeake Bay This calendar shows the various species of fish we catch, the peak times to catch them, and port we will be in to catch them. Methods we use to catch the fish include: trolling, chumming, bottom fishing, jigging, and live baiting. Think of what species of fish you want to target and how you want to catch them and we can recommend what time of year would be best.
