Dr. Canter completed a three year fellowship specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery after a residency dedicated to Women's Health in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Georgetown University Medical Center.

She is board certified in both Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Canter began incorporating robotic surgery into her reconstructive procedures in 2006. Dr. Canter performed the first robotic hysterectomy in the DC Metropolitan area. She provides traditional and cutting edge procedures to give her patients the latest treatment options.

Diagnostic Procedures

Use of a pediatric sized catheter to drain urine from the bladder. This may be done to determine if you empty your bladder appropriately, or to collect urine specimens to send to the lab. A procedure that involves placing a tiny camera though the urethra into the bladder to visualize these areas. A bladder function test involving the use of a tiny catheter in the bladder and one in the vagina or rectum.
