About Us
Report
At Atlantic Audiology Inc, we believe that each patient is unique and the impact of their hearing loss is unique as well. Although two patients may have an identical hearing loss based on their audiogram, the impact on day-to-day function can vary significantly based on their lifestyle. By developing a more personal relationship with our patients, we are better able to address their needs through individualized counseling and device selection.
Services
Report
Better hearing starts with a better audiologic evaluation. The audiologists at Atlantic Audiology use the latest technology to identify the sounds you can hear and the sounds you are missing. We'll evaluate your speech comprehension and hearing in a variety of settings to replicate how you hear in your daily activities.
Our Staff
Report
Dr. Gauthier received her undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders (BS) (2003) as well as her clinical Doctorate of Audiology (Au. D.)(2007) from the University of Rhode Island. She brings to Atlantic Audiology more than 10 years of experience working in an ENT setting providing her with an extensive background in diagnosing and treating varied types and degrees of hearing loss.
Earwax Removal
Report
Cerumen, also known as earwax, is naturally produced by the glands in the ears to lubricate the ear canals and keep dust and debris from getting too far down in the ear canal. Cerumen typically clears itself from the ears, but in some instances can accumulate and cause a blockage, especially if you wear earmolds or hearing aids.
Diagnostic Audiologic Evaluation
Report
All of our new patients receive a full diagnostic hearing evaluation during their first visit to our practice. The evaluation is completed to determine if a hearing loss is present and, if so, to detail the type and severity of the hearing loss. Diagnostic evaluations are more thorough than screenings that are available through retail outlets.
