Many therapies for pain control only cover up the real problem. With Interventional Pain Management, a pain doctor treats your problem at the source. Many times an inflammatory process in or near a nerve is the true cause of pain. By identifying the location of the problem with X-rays, CAT scans and MRI modalities, a pain doctor can place pain-relieving solutions at the site of injury and inflammation.
Once the inflammation is resolved, much of the pain is then relieved. This therapy is useful in the treatment of many painful conditions such as sacroiliac joint problems, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, neuropathies, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, spinal stenosis, muscular/myofascial pain, post-herpetic neuralgia(shingles) and several other painful conditions.

Your First Visit
Report
On your first visit, we ask that you bring with you all pertinent medical records from previous doctors. The report from the radiologist of your previous diagnostic studies is extremely important. We use these, along with a history and physical exam performed on the first visit to design a treatment plan specifically for you.
Patient Education
Report
On this site, articles will be posted that will help educate the public on pain management and the modalities generally used to eliminate, or at the very least, help ease discomfort. Bookmark this site and check regularly for your educational information on pain management. Most people go through the day without pain.
Sacroiliac Joint Problem
Report
Sacroiliac joint problems are one of many causes of low back pain. Sacroiliac joint dysfunction may be difficult to diagnose. X-rays, CAT scans and MRIs may be normal and several other problems can mimic the pain of SI joint dysfunction. One maneuver called the FABER test can provoke pain caused by SI joint problems.
Sciatica
Report
The term Sciatica is used to describe pain traveling in the distribution of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is a very large nerve traveling in the leg. It originates from nerves starting in the lumbar spine which join together to form the sciatic nerve. The pain from sciatica usually involves only one side.
