Founded in 2011, Balderdash Cellars is a boutique winery located in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. We focus on producing ultra-premium (wicked to New England folks) wines from grapes grown by world-class California vineyards. What about the name?
When we said we were starting a winery, everyone said that we were mad, obsessed, and should stick to buying wine (truthfully, it is much easier than making it) - but we answered, "Balderdash."As we sought to name the winery, Balderdash just seemed to stick. The winery would be nothing if it were not for our volunteer crew.

About 3 hours south of San Francisco and about 10 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, you will find Paso Robles, part of the Central Coast AVA. Paso Robles is considered to have an ideal climate for growing Rhone varietals including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Viognier, Marsanne, and Rousanne because of its warm climate and abundance of limestone in the soils.

We are open and are welcoming guests back for a tasting, glass of vino, or pint of beer in addition to our light food offerings. Not a wine drinker, no problem. We offer 2-3 rotating beers on tap specially brewed for us by Wandering Star Craft Brewery in Pittsfield and Big Elm Brewing in Sheffield, MA!
