A New Bern pain management physician pled guilty to health care fraud and money laundering Monday in U.S. District Court.
Dr. Michael K. Nunn, doing business as Community Wellness Center (CWP) in New Bern at McCarthy Boulevard and also in Winterville and Morehead City, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Terrence W. Boyle. The court fined the corporation $700,000 ordered Nunn to pay restitution of $297,215 to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Veterans Administration.
Nunn was placed on four years of probation.
