Students may progress at their own rate and developmental stage, learning on a continuum that is uninterrupted by grade level or curriculum requirements. There is allowance for active, cooperative student learning, child centered practices and authentic assessment tailored to the individual. Students interact with peers of varying abilities, interests, personalities and ages, promoting involvement, respect and accountability.
Early Childhood

Our Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten classes offer a creative early learning environment for children ages 3-6. Children engage in imaginative play, outdoor exploration, songs and movement, stories, the early learning of letters and sounds, literature, science investigations, cooking and baking, community enrichment and focused discovery.

Drama and theatre classes gives our students the opportunity to explore their imaginations, voices and bodies through various theater games and exercises. Research has shown that drama in the primary grades is not only fun, but also an excellent way of increasing self-esteem, communication, problem solving and cooperation.
Expeditions

Past Upper School trips include: New York City, Boston, Coastal Maine, Washington D.C., Williamsburg, VA, Seattle and Olympic Peninsula, WA, San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ and The Grand Canyon. The Learning Academy has been our part of our extended family for 10 years. I know that my boys are loved and cared for each day, never once have I been concerned about the guidance and instruction they have received from the teachers at the Learning Academy.
After Care & Summer Camp

LATV's afterschool program offers games and activities, outdoor play, music and dance, and art projects each school day from 3:00-5:30pm. This service is currently only available for students enrolled in The Learning Academy. Summer Camp at The Learning Academy is the best of all worlds and has excellent hours for working parents.
