David started his career in 1976, when he joined Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company as a staff auditor. In his role, he gained exposure to a variety of industries, accounting methods, and corporate cultures. In 1980, David joined a privately held company and spent the next several years developing a strong technological background and an understanding of the challenges faced at all levels of private and public companies.
