What We Believe

The de Paul School teaches students with learning differences how to learn, how to become independent, and how to become successful. We believe that our students need an educational program with specific features in order to reach their potential. We believe that in order to best serve a student, the family-school relationship must be strong.
Our History
Report
The de Paul School Board purchased the former Longfellow Elementary School, which remains our current location at 1925 Duker Avenue in the Highlands. Louisville de Paul founded other de Paul Schools and Programs in Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Florida, New Jersey, Louisiana, Texas, and Pennsylvania.
Our Students

Our kindergarten through eighth grade students are bright and talented individuals who are challenged by a learning difference like dyslexia or ADHD. Many of our students experience great difficulty with mathematics (dyscalculia), written expression (dysgraphia), auditory processing deficits, and extremely deficient organizational skills.

We teach students with learning differences how to learn, become independent, and be successful. We're a collaborative who believe that there's no other way to dignify children more than to help them understand what they are truly capable of. We want each child to know and believe they are capable of academic and life success - as long as they work hard, set goals and aspire to reach them.
