When I first began studying law in the late 1980s, I was not sure what path my career would take. All I knew was that becoming an attorney would be a way for me to uphold the law and to help people who have been injured or who have lost a family member because of someone else's wrongdoing. Professionally, nothing motivates me more than helping a personal injury victim get justice and return their life back to normal.

Most car accidents are caused by someone's avoidable negligence. Where a driver has "rear-ended" your car and caused injuries the neglect is clear and responsibility rests with the driver behind. There are few exceptions to this rule, but the law presumes the driver of the car hitting the one ahead was negligent.

Unfortunately, bus accidents are a fairly common occurrence in Orange County, and they often involve serious injuries. Because of the difficulty maneuvering such large, heavy vehicles and sometimes because of the inexperience of the driver, bus accidents happen with some frequency. The seating arrangements and lack of seat belts can contribute to severe injuries, or even death, being suffered by bus passengers.

Some injures may require substantial and expensive medical attention and require you to miss time from work.

Generally, when you suffer an injury that appears to be the fault of someone else (such as when you're involved in an auto accident), you must prove that the other party was somehow negligent in their conduct. When the law does not require such proof and liability is automatic, this is called "strict liability."
