Aqua Therapy

Water has been, and still remains, the best environment to achieve full function regardless of the injury. Water improves motion and flexibility. The warmth of the water (94°F) and its massaging effects allow muscles to relax while helping to reduce pain. The natural buoyancy reduces gravitational pull and lessens compressive forces, hence making exercises much easier to perform than on land.

Paul and Joe did an amazing job with my rehab for a total knee replacement. They used a great variety of work outs that always made a difference. With their amazing personalities you wanted to push it with out even thinking about it. When I had my 8 week check up with my surgeon he simply said bend your leg as far as you can. Straighten your leg as far as you can. Said “ your golden. See you for your annual next October. Oh, and what was the name of where you did your PT?”

I went to Active Physical Therapy in Marquette for treatment of tendonitis in both shoulders. Starting in October of 2021, I just finished and the results have been very impressive. My therapist J.J. (JARRETT) was awesome. I'm 65 and had never been to physical therapy before. I'd highly recommend Active to anybody experiencing joint pain with limited motion!!

JJ helped me, in the spring, with wrist tendonitis. I appreciated his intelligence and the way he challenged me. During one session, he noticed that my right shoulder was less flexible than my left shoulder and asked about it. I've held tension, since childhood, due to trauma, and although I've worked hard to relieve old fear-related tension, my right shoulder was still restricted. I asked JJ if he thought he could help me. I told him it was a complicated problem that did not involve acute, new shoulder pain. He said he was up for a challenge and let me know that a lot of the work might not be

I went to Active first in 2013, where Kip helped me with my patellar-femoral issues during training for a 50k race, and I had a phenomenal experience so the next time I needed therapy I didn't hesitate to return. This time I worked with Lisa and she was awesome. Very friendly and helped me get through pregnancy-related pelvic pain I had been dealing with for almost 2 years. I would definitely choose Active Physical Therapy again if I need rehabilitation for an injury in the future.
