Pottery Painting

Create personalized pottery items using our selection of mugs, plates, and decorative pieces. Choose from 60+ non-toxic glazes and use stencils, stamps, and brushes to design your masterpiece. Our staff provides technique guidance to ensure successful results. Fired pottery becomes food-safe and durable for generations.

Glass Fusing

Design glass artworks using colored glass pieces and specialized tools. Learn cutting techniques and assembly methods to create flat or contoured pieces. Projects include decorative panels, bowls, and functional items. Completed works undergo kiln firing to permanently fuse glass layers together for lasting durability.

Birthday Parties

Host themed celebrations in our semi-private party room accommodating up to 30 children. Choose from four package options featuring pottery painting, custom decorations, and food-safe ceramic keepsakes. Packages include 1.5-hour sessions with dedicated staff assistance and 10% discounts on group pottery purchases.

Team Building

Sara Thompson founded Ceramic Cafe in 1997 after discovering pottery painting during a California vacation. As former occupational therapist, she combines therapeutic benefits with creative expression. She oversees daily operations and maintains the studio's welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

Questions

What types of pottery can I paint?

We offer mugs, plates, bowls, vases, piggy banks, and decorative items ranging from $10 to $100. Most functional pieces cost $18-$30 including firing fees.

Can I host a large group event?

Yes! Our party room seats 30 children or 24 adults. We accommodate larger groups through after-hours reservations with minimum guaranteed sales requirements.

How long does pottery firing take?

Ceramic pieces typically require 10 days for glazing and firing. Holiday seasons may extend this timeframe slightly.

Do you offer glass fusing classes?

While we primarily offer walk-in glass fusing, occasional instructional classes appear on our Special Events page for guaranteed success.

Are food and drinks allowed?

Yes, we permit food, non-alcoholic beverages, and alcohol (for 21+ groups) during private events. Leftover containers must be removed after events.

I really wanted to love this place, unfortunately our experience wasnt the best. We told them it was our first time and the employees still left the process up to us to figure out. By time we actually got assistance, my toddler was over it. Would have been nice to have smaller, less expensive pieces for toddlers attention spans. Most pieces are pretty pricey.

Had fun! It's hard sometimes to decide what to do, because there're so many alternatives!!!
Btw, this cactus turned out SOOO AWESOME! I placed all clear bulbs on the trunk and arms. Then I inserted a RGB LED strip inside. Now I can change the colors of the lights with my phone and rotate color themes for holidays, game days, etc.

This is the most wonderful place to make pottery, paint pottery, and many other crafty things! The staff is kind and happy to help with anything and the overall environment is so inviting. I have made and painted so many things and plan to continue doing so! Also a great way to make personalized gifts!

What an awesome little shop! I took my two children (ages 5 and 8) over the holiday break and they loved it. The employees are very helpful and can be as engaging as you need them to be. It is a little pricey, but it is a great family experience. Better than sitting in front on the television watching a movie or playing video games. Perfect for crummy weather. It took a couple weeks for us to get our kilned pieces of "art", but this may be due to the holidays. They offer gift cards. We will definitely go back.

I was extremely upset. When we arrived I explained that we were first time guests. I also explained we had ZERO experience. The rep walked with us and answered questions and my excited kids chose very large ceramics. About 20 minutes in they realized it was a lot harder to do. About 1.5 hours in, the rep comes back over and said, yes those are too hard for first timers. I literally told them we were first timers. Why would you not say that as we were picking our objects. It makes sense that kids want the biggest best thing, but as an associate I expect them to tell me that the larger ones are for

I was excited for our anime night. It was really fun and everyone was nice. The treats and drinks were an extra treat we weren't expecting and we thought that was really cool! I felt a little lost throughout and rushed/anxious. 2 of our 3 pieces didn't turn out, but they did replace them and said we could come back any time they are open and repaint new ones, which I truly appreciated. Depending on what you do, it can be pricey, but especially now a days, I can understand why. Overall, we'll be back to redo our pieces and even keep an eye out for future events.
