Since deciding to open Icelandic Thunder, it's been my mission to provide a secure and welcoming environment for my horses and people wanting to learn more about Icelandics and their care. I now have an indoor riding arena in addition to a 60 foot outdoor roundpen where riding and training can take place 24/7 at anytime of the year.
I have been in love with the horse since I can remember. I was not allowed to own one until I was out on my own at 21 years. I had worked at a Standardbred racetrack in my teens and learned from the ground up on how to care for them. I bought my first horse, an Island pony on Antigua and trained her to ride in the Ocean.

Report
Icelandic Thunder is not a boarding facility but we do have two horses that were born here that are boarded for a friend. We own 250 acres here with tons of wooded trails and open meadows to ride on. We also have a 60 X 120 indoor arena so can get away from the bugs in the summer and undercover from rain or snow in the winter.
Treeless Saddles
Report
Icelandics can be difficult to fit to saddle because of their physiology which is the reason the Icelandics and Rockies are ridden in treeless saddles here on our farm. Even if saddles are made for a specific horse here, they rarely maintain a certain size year round so that particular saddle would not fit the one horse during all seasons.
