North Texas: Head-on collision involving oilfield truck. The truck driver accepted no responsibility and blamed another motorist for causing the wreck. At the time of the collision, our client had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit. No settlement offers were made to our client, so we sued the truck driver and his employer in their county, which is one of the worst counties in the state for injury lawsuits.
The case settled shortly before trial. Client and his family received $959,341.74. Attorney's Fees were $900,000 and expenses were $174,611.92. After more than two weeks in trial, a DeWitt County jury reached a $4.47 million verdict for our Yorktown client, who had suffered a head injury as a result of a collision with an 18-wheeler.

Shannon retired from the practice of personal injury and moved to Port Lavaca, where he began assisting the District Attorney of Calhoun County.
