My name is Alyssa Cox, and I am a professional operatic performer and voice and theater educator based in my private Annapolis studio. I am a classically trained operatic soprano with degrees in voice and theater from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and postgraduate study at Indiana University.
I have been teaching and coaching performers for nearly twelve years and teach from a foundation of what our body is athletically and healthily capable, how to maximize vocal potential by understanding vocal and respiratory science, coordinating breath, resonance, and mindfulness, with a heavy dose of theatricality!Anyone can and should sing any type of music with ease and longevity.

One thing I know well from pursuing a career in the performing arts is how quickly all the extra expenses can add up. Application fees, lessons, coachings, travel, photos, videos, and on an on- it can seem never ending!
For this reason, since opening the studio, it has been my aim to provide some of these audition services for a heavily discounted rate, so that my students have the ability to pursue their dreams without worrying about all of the extraneous stuff!
