After obtaining a major in criminal justice from Michigan State University, I came to the realization that I would not work within the criminal justice system, but I could work in a way to keep that very system in check.

Unfortunately, many Americans do not have comprehensive knowledge as to their constitutional rights. For most people, the first time they become aware of their rights is when they are, or a loved one is, charged with a crime. You have the right to remain silent without adverse inference. In other words, a judge or jury cannot infer guilt at a trial if you exercise your right to remain silent.
