The name, Local Pottery, is both oddly generic yet quite descriptive. I bet google inquiries for local pottery gives this store at the top. The store is on the first floor, classroom studios for classes on the second. The store is located down from Trattoria San Pietro with line of sight from parking lot and street for Local Pottery hard to be noticed readily. The third on site offering is a great garden center. True to its name, regional pottery artists have display sections...perhaps 10 artists or more, but under 20. Each is unique in styles, glazes, sizes. It is quite possible to find for example

How have I never been in this beautiful and delightful shop before!? Now that I've rectified that major misstep I am can honestly say I am thrilled to have stumbled into the shop after a recent lunch in The Fork in the Road which is adjacent. I was warmly welcomed by Lisa when I walked in...always such a nice touch to be welcomed into a shop and sadly it happens far too infrequently these days.
I don't think many shop owners realize how wonderful that personal touch is. Local Pottery is filled with a gorgeous and wide variety of pottery selections made by a number of different artisans

Popped into the second half of the place with the stained glass with my husband who was picking up some materials she had made for the company he works for. Wasn't in the market to order anything but her work is very impressive. She was a pleasure to talk to and is quite obviously a GREAT talent.
