Waterworks Gallery
Located in Friday Harbor, WA, WaterWorks has offered an intimate art experience since 1985. We feature a variety of mediums including jewelry and sculpture. With both classic and contemporary art on display, our island art gallery offers pieces for both the strolling shopper and the serious collector.

Our pieces are the personal touch that makes a house your home. Our rotating art collection showcases the work of artists from the San Juan Islands and the Pacific Northwest. Among our jewelry gallery, you'll find multiple collections hearkening to the lush, natural roots of their creators. See our collection first hand.

Our gallery focuses on showcasing only the regions best in an environment that allows our artists' ability to shine through. From oil and encaustic to mixed media and glass, our San Juan Islands and Pacific Northwest artists utilize a wide variety of surfaces, techniques, and mediums. The artists we showcase move hanging art beyond a two dimensional picture, creating stories that make your house a home.

The gallery dedicates a specific area on a monthly basis to host a new body of work that highlights artists from the Pacific Northwest. Our featured Artist for November is Winnie Brumsickle. Winnie's cheerful paintings aim to provoke a feeling of freedom from time, anxiety, ambition - from the ever-shifting demands of unattainable ideas about how life should be.

WaterWorks has had the distinct honor to help clients find contemporary art pieces for more than 30 years. Sometimes our clients purchase a single work to add a splash of color to a room. Other times, they collect multiple pieces to develop a collection. With each new addition to their home or office, they create a space that reflects who they are.

In 1985, Ruth Offen left her San Francisco gallery job and moved to San Juan Island. Facing an abysmal job market, she turned to what she knew best - art. With a leap of faith and a limited inventory, she opened WaterWorks Gallery in Friday Harbor. Over the years, the gallery has grown and flourished due to Ruth's exceptional eye for great work.

It took just 5 minutes to fill out an application online (which they helped me with) and I got my approval instantly! I gave WaterWorks my first payment of $250, I signed up for direct payments for the other 9 payments of $250, and I got to take home my painting. WaterWorks Gallery partners with Art Money to make art more accessible, supporting artists and a sustainable creative economy.
