Until the 1960's most fireplaces were built without a throat damper to seal off the chimney. A Top Sealing Damper is a simple, cost-effective solution to seal off the inside of a chimney and stop those dollars from leaving your home. All of our top sealing dampers are made of 304 Stainless Steel with a special stainless steel aircraft cable that runs inside the flue from the cap down to the box.
