Monteverdi Music School has a long tradition of bringing community music education opportunities to students of all ages in Central Vermont. Our mission is to provide excellent music instruction and performance opportunities for all ages and abilities; to encourage musical growth and development; and to foster musical enjoyment and awareness in the community.
Faculty
Report
Our faculty offers private instruction, group classes, ensemble coaching, recitals, faculty performances, and other special events. Community members, musicians, and educators can also rent space for teaching, events, practicing, and more. Teaching, learning, playing, and sharing music together enriches and connects us all - teachers, students, families, and community.

I work with composition students of just about any age and in any style they want. Students bring me their work, I make comments and we discuss where to go next.
Piano

Piano lessons through Monteverdi Music School: online lessons continue, and a limited number of in-person piano lessons are becoming available. We are in the process of assessing safety concerns, but most teachers will continue to be available online. Excellent piano instruction, many options of style!
String

Our string department ranges widely from orchestral violin lessons, viola lessons, and cello lessons, to classical guitar lessons, to folk styles. Traditional folk fiddle lessons, and folk guitar lesson styles! Check out our string teachers below! Liz Reid teaches classical viola lessons and violin lessons, and is well versed in all online technology!
