The Greenhouse has been a family-owned-and-operated business since 1958. Our entire family works to serve all gardening and landscaping needs in the greater Richmond area. Succulent plants are easy to love. They thrive in brief periods of neglect, so if you tend to go gaga for a cute plant and forget about it, this plant is for you. The Greenhouse carries a wide variety of houseplants that are air purifiers as well as air moisturizers. Why do we need these kinds of plants in our house?

The Greenhouse has been providing high quality plants to the Greater Richmond area for over 50 years. With a huge variety of annuals and perennials, we strive to provide our customers with top-notch customer service geared specifically towards their individual needs. Initially, the business was a small operation out of the greenhouses in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond Virginia.
Our History

In 1958 Gilbert Miles and his wife Margaret opened up the greenhouses at Hollywood cemetery, where they operated for over ten years. The business did so well that the greenhouse traffic began to interfere with cemetery traffic, and Mr. and Mrs. Miles decided to move to another location. In 1969 they found the perfect place in Glen Allen on Mountain road.

The key to watering succulents is exercising restraint. In the dormant season - fall & winter - keep them cooler and dryer.

Spring & Fall at The Greenhouse typically showcases a wide variety of annuals & perennials, including bedding plants, herbs and vegetables. We also carry a number of shrubs, bushes and grasses year round to add structure and height to your landscape.
