TAG's Mission is to operate as a visual arts center that serves the local community and area artists by promoting, educating, inspiring, showcasing and nurturing creativity. TAG's Vision to promote awareness of the organization; enhance our educational programming to include underserved populations; strengthen our relationships with local artists and other arts organizations; elevate the cultural experience within our region through visual arts; and promote TAG as an art destination in Trumbull County.

Tag has been involved in the development of the collection from its inception in the early 1990s. Marianne Nissen and Frannie Burns, both TAG Board Members and volunteers, began the collection in order to infuse the visual arts into the healthcare system and to provide patients, vistors and staff a positive and less stressful environment in which to work and experience healthcare.

Fragmentation of information, specifically through language barriers, is a concept I am working through for the past two years. Messages that one sends are only received after being filtered through the receiver's perspective. Likewise, one's own experiences are limiting the information we receive from others due to things like connotation, stereotypes, and the context in which one is receiving the information.
