For more than 25 years, Mental Health Cooperative (MHC) has been helping adults with severe mental illness and children with serious emotional challenges live quality lives in the community with ongoing support and treatment.
MHC was formed from three community programs: Urban Case Management of Meharry Community Mental Health Center, Continuous Treatment Team of Council of Community Services and the Mobile Crisis Team of Crisis Intervention Center.MHC was established to serve adults with severe mental illness. These services provided wrap around supports for each person through case management, psychiatry and crisis supports.

Every MHC client is part of a TEAM specifically focused on symptom reduction and problem resolution. Our multidisciplinary approach involves clients and parents every step of the way. A mental health crisis can be extremely frightening and difficult for family and friends to understand. The CTC facility was specifically designed to emphasize a calming, relaxing atmosphere in an effort to reduce anxiety, stress and challenging behaviors. All MHC Emergency Psychiatric Services now operate from the CTC.

The now month-old pilot program is among the first of its kind in which trained mental health.
