Board and Staff
Report
Regular board meetings are held quarterly on the second Thursday of each month (March, June, September, and December) at 6:30 PM, held at our office, 355 Pleasant Unity Mutual Road, Greensburg PA 15601. The meetings are open to the public. Call 724-879-4020 for information. Volunteer board members come from all walks of life, from educators to environmental professionals to business leaders to engineers and lawyers.
Litter
Report
Litter is misplaced, improperly handled waste. During a three year study, Keep America Beautiful found that people who litter do so for one of three reasons: 1) they feel no sense of ownership for the property, 2) believe that someone else will clean up after them, or 3) litter has already accumulated.
Cleanup Resources
Report
Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling DOES NOT clean up trash that was dumped with the knowledge and consent of the property owner. We assist with the cleanup of trash on public rights-of-way and on private property where the property owner clearly did not know about the dumping or was not in a position to stop it.
How to Report a Dumpsite
Report
Illegal dumping and littering are ILLEGAL under Pennsylvania law. However, many residents are uncertain of what to do when they observe this illegal activity. If you observe someone littering or dumping, DO NOT APPROACH THE SUSPECTED DUMPER. Get details and descriptions of the incident and turn them over to an enforcement agency as soon as possible.
