The Kansas Ballet Company (KBC) is a non-profit organization whose goals and objectives are to raise funds in support of classical ballet programming to provide students/dancers with the opportunities to expand their personal technique and artistic expression through dance instruction/classes, rehearsals and performances.

The Vaganova Method's detailed and scientific approach to ballet training has produced some of the finest teachers, choreographers, and dancers in history. It is hailed around the world as the safest training program for classical ballet. We are proud to introduce this acclaimed training method to our students.

Excellent education relies on excellent instruction. In long-standing classical ballet tradition, only an experienced instructor who is accomplished in their own right can safely and effectively pass down information to the next generation of dancers. Topeka's own Stephanie Heston and Russian-native Alexander Smirnov have more than 35 years of combined experience as professional ballet dancers, instructors, choreographers, and directors.

Kansas Ballet Academy employs highly-trained instructors who have abundant professional performance experience, teaching experience or college degrees. Additionally, we provide special master classes for upper-level students with world-class professional guest artists. Stephanie Heston is originally from Topeka, Kansas and enjoyed a 15 year career as a professional ballerina.
