She has over 25 years experience as a psychotherapist and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Psychology and an MSSW in Social Work. Carol is certified in EMDR and uses many therapeutic techniques such as Gestalt, Solution Focused Psychotherapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

EMDR* is by far the most effective therapeutic tool I have found to help people overcome trauma. Life events can range from small "t" traumas to large-scale "T" traumas. Prolonged stress can also produce traumatic symptoms which affect our bodies as well as our minds, creating negative thoughts about ourselves, others and events.
Gestalt

In Gestalt therapy, the client and therapist work together creatively to figure out how to move out of old behavioral patterns and ways of thinking. Gestalt is a German word for "whole" - like seeing all the parts of something at once, as in sensing the essence of an issue, understanding it's "gestalt" or whole meaning.
