Ballet Brazos

Ballet Brazos was founded in 2012 by Suzanne Moreau, Diana Wilcox, and Katy Ellison, who envisioned a collaborative community ballet production uniting local dancers and studios. Our inaugural Nutcracker performance featured 80 dancers from five area schools, establishing a tradition of excellence. We collaborate with the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra and local schools to deliver high-quality classical ballet experiences. Our outreach programs bring performances to libraries, museums, and community events, fostering arts appreciation among children. The organization is governed by an executive board dedicated to expanding training opportunities and preserving ballet traditions.

We have grown to include guest artists from New York City Ballet and offer masterclasses, workshops, and educational initiatives. Our productions feature elaborate costumes and sets created by dedicated volunteers and professionals. The annual Nutcracker performances at Texas A&M University's Rudder Auditorium have become a cherished regional holiday tradition. We rely on donations, grants, and sponsorships to maintain accessibility and community engagement. Our mission remains focused on cultivating the next generation of dancers and audiences through collaborative, inclusive programming.
