Welcome to Albemarle Fishing Charters with your guide, Captain Jeff. We offer inshore, light tackle fishing trips on the Albemarle Sound and its tributaries including the Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Little and North River. Charter trips are also available for both the Currituck Sound and Manns Harbor in North Carolina, and Elizabeth River Hot Ditch in Virginia.

For over 20 years, residents and visitors of Elizabeth City, Hertford, Edenton and surrounding areas in northeastern North Carolina have been guided by Captain Jeff. Jeff has spent most of his life fishing these waters for species like flounder, croaker, largemouth bass, striped bass, white perch, crappie and trout.

What We Catch
Report
In early spring there is great speckled trout fishing in the Elizabeth River Hot Ditch. In the rivers of the Albemarle Sound there is abundant crappie fishing and striped bass fishing can be excellent in both the rivers and the sound. In spring largemouth bass fishing can also be good. In summer there are lots of bottom feeders to fish for including croaker, spot, puppy drum, white perch and flounder.
Outer Banks Crabbing Charters
Report
The waters of the Currituck and Albemarle Sounds are full of blue crabs from May until September. Captain Jeff can take you on crabbing charters that are fun for the whole family! Ask about our crabbing and fishing combo! Striped Bass Fishing in the sounds and rivers of the North River and Currituck Sound can be great in the cooler months.
Largemouth Bass
Report
Along the Outer Banks, the Albemarle and Currituck Sounds of North Carolina, and their tributaries are known as some of the best brackish water largemouth bass fishing in the US. Since most of the structure is on the shoreline, we have a year round fishing where we can fish top water most of the day, and some days, all day!
Speckled Perch
Report
The rivers of the Albemarle Sound have some of the finest crappie fishing in the country. The best fishing is from late fall to late spring with 50 fish days a possibility. To keep them they must be a minimum length of 8 inches, with a limit of 25 per person per day. Using a variety of different methods, I fish for crappie in many different bodies of water throughout northeastern North Carolina.
Striped Bass
Report
Striped Bass in the sounds, rivers and in Manns Harbor North Carolina usually range from 1 to 10 pounds. In the spring when the spawning stock arrives there is a chance for even bigger fish, especially around the Albemarle Sound Bridge. The daily limit is 2 fish per person and they must be 18 inches in length.
