Cherry Hills

In 1938, in the beginning of Cherry Hills history, a series of houses were built in what became known as the "Circle." To the south, is a small school called Cherry Hills School. This beautiful section attracted people who wanted to maintain and beautify their community. In 1938, the Cherry Mountain Improvement Association was established to protect the area from excessive development, and the preserve the character of the community.
Greenwood Village

In the early 1920s, the land prospered with orchards of cherries, apples, apricots, plums and pear trees. Colorado entrepreneur Rufus Clark bought 160 acres of land along the Platte River, including much of Greenwood Village east of Holly Street. In the 1950s, residents were deeply concerned that developments south of Denver would threaten their way of life.
