Right around the end of 1996, an optical friend said to me "Hey, you're one hip chick, why don't you open your own shop?" With that prophetic question, my New Year's resolution was born. I am not interested in blending in, maintaining the status quo or following the crowd. I like anything that is unique, thought provoking, genuine and well thought out, including experiences, conversations and objects.
It's an extension of me and my passions. What are my passions? I enjoy getting to know people. Hearing your history, your stories, and your hopes for the future cultivates a connection I don't take lightly. I enjoy helping people see. Rediscovering the love of reading or rediscovering oneself.

NAONED began with strong conviction from French optician, Jean-Phillipe Douis. He wanted design eyewear and have it made completely in France. You see, in 1980, there were 250 manufacturing workshops in France. Today, there are only a dozen left. Passionate manufacturers who perpetuate the French eyeglass manufacturing savoir-faire make NAONED frames.

A few very short years ago, a representative came to my shop to show me this exciting new collection, sabine be. I was blown away and instantly ordered several frame styles for my customers at One Hip Chic. The representative was excited too. He called Sabine right there on the spot and, the excitement continued, with a conversation between us about her eyewear that still has me smiling.
