We are local pediatricians who have been practicing in this community for a combined 40+ years. The best part of our job is watching children in our care grow and thrive. Families trust us to be part of their children's lives, and for this we are grateful. We founded Coast Pediatrics Del Mar in 2012 in response to increasing demand from parents for an alternative to the status quo.
If You Are Expecting

We care for newborns at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, and Drs. Wood and Del Re care for their newborns at Scripps Encinitas. When registering for your admission, please list Coast Pediatrics Del Mar or Carmel Valley, or the individual doctor's name as your pediatrician. The hospital will notify us when your new baby arrives.
Insurance

We urge you to exercise caution when determining the provider network for your insurance, especially for non-employer sponsored plans. With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the public health insurance exchanges, there has been much confusion about the different products offered by each insurer.
Billing
Report
After each appointment, we will submit all charges to your insurance for payment. Once payment has been received, you will receive a billing statement from our office indicating whether any remaining balance is due. Insurance companies will deny payment if any information is not current. They will also deny payment if information is not submitted correctly within a certain amount of time.
Immunization
Report
At Coast Pediatrics, we are strongly committed to immunizing children so that they will be protected against infectious diseases that can cause death or permanent disability. We adhere to the vaccination guidelines developed by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
