Our Beginnings
Report
In 1996, Owner Kimberly Nester-Atiee felt there was a need in the Randolph Metro-com area for an independently owned funeral home. Together with her husband Mike and brother-in-law Dr. George Atiee, a plan was formed and Schertz Funeral Home was established. With the growing popularity of cremations, Schertz Funeral Home opened a new state of the art Crematory in 2005.

Planning a Funeral
Report
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
Cremation Information
Report
Nothing can be more overwhelming than the death of a loved one. The ability to make informed choices can help you along this path. Bringing family and friends together to celebrate a cherished life is part of the healing process, and best served through a personalized ceremony and tribute.

When choosing cremation, it is important not only to capture the memories and celebrate the spirit of your loved one, but also to provide healing through gathering together, paying tribute, and celebrating a life well lived. Our primary mission is to ensure that this special, emotional, and necessary time for healing receives the utmost attention.
Why Plan Ahead
Report
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.
