The Carolina Horse Park Foundation (CHP) is a 315 acre, nationally recognized, premiere equine competition venue located in Hoke County, NC. Founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization by equestrian enthusiasts, the Park is dedicated to the preservation of open space for equestrian and recreational purposes with multi-disciplined capabilities suitable for championship level equine competitions.
In addition, it hosts other agricultural events and fun outdoor activities open to non-equestrians. The Park hosts over 30 weeks of events each year. Educational programs include guided hikes, "Lunch with the Coyotes" and "Bats at Sunset" as well as Talks and Hikes with the Sandhills Prescribed Burn Association and the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

The Southern Pines Equine Associates War Horse Event Series, presented by Adequan, is a unique and highly successful competition which the Carolina Horse Park is proud to offer to the eventing community in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions of the country. Going into our 7th year, the series continues to grow by numbers of competitors, sponsors and volunteers and has had an amazing impact on the growth and popularity of the sport.
Horse Trials

Eventing is comprised of three phases in which the same horse and rider combination perform in the areas of dressage, cross country jumping and show jumping. Ranging from one day to three days, eventing draws riders of all ages and all levels of competency, and is one of the 3 recognized Olympic horse sports.
Driving
Report
Competiton among drivers and their horses began ages ago, but the organized sport of Combined Driving of today bears little resemblance to the chariot races of old. The sport we know as combined driving is relatively young on the world scene, the first comprehensive and standardized rules having been laid down in the early 1970s under the leadership of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Dressage

Originally developed as a method for training military horses, the centuries-old discipline of dressage, which is a French term meaning "training, " was used to increase the maneuverability and obedience of cavalry mounts with some of the very advanced movements being taught specifically as battle techniques.
Community Events

CHP is a venue for educational, community and business events. Our beautiful surroundings offer the perfect location for recreational and other outdoor programs. Ample space and RV hook-ups allow for camping and overnight stays. Throughout the year, the Carolina Horse Park runs approximately 28 weeks of equestrian events and 10 educational and nature events with visitors and competitors traveling primarily from the Southeast and Mid Atlantic.
