
Statement of Purpose: The purpose of Friends of Africa International (FOAI) is to support and assist effective and established charitable institutions, research centers, and projects, both in Africa and in the USA, whose mandate is the conservation and protection of African wildlife, environment, and culture from the constant threat of devastation by outside forces.
Through education, financial aid, volunteer coordination, and hard work, it is the goal of Friends of Africa International is to generate awareness of those threats, explore viable solutions, and then support programs that endeavor to mitigate those threats.

Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE

Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder, Jane Goodall Institute; United Nations Messenger of Peace. Her work at Gombe Stream would become the foundation of future primatological research and redefine the relationship between humans and animals. In 1977, Dr. Goodall established the Jane Goodall Institute, which continues the Gombe research and is a global leader in the effort to protect chimpanzees and their habitats.
Don Hunt

Born in 1931, Don Hunt became known as B'Wana Don, host of a 1960's television program by the same name featuring wild and domestic animals.
In 1964, after filming 130 episodes of the show in Kenya, Mr. Hunt met actor William Holden, who would eventually become his partner in the Mount Kenya Game Ranch along with Julian McKeand, former professional hunter turned game warden, and Iris, a German-born art and Africa enthusiast who would later become Don's wife.Don and Iris founded the Mount Kenya Animal Orphanage and created a successful method of rehabilitation and release of wildlife.

In 2003, Nick Lowery founded Nation Building for Native Youth (NBNY), a nonprofit organization that facilitates life-changing empowerment programs for Native youths. NBNY programs represent 25 tribes from Northern Plains, Great Lakes, Southeast, Southern Plains, New Mexico and Arizona.
