WILDLIFE WISHING WELL was founded on the idea of helping and rehabilitating injured, sick and orphaned wildlife animals in need. Ever since our organization was established, we have endeavored to provide help where the need is greatest and that is why we specialize almost exclusivly in RVS (Rabies Vector Species) such as Raccoons.
Although fox are not considered RVS in New York State, they are in most states and we accept them also. If an animal other than RVS needs care, we help them find another rehabber or, if space permits, accept them ourselves. We are not licensed for birds but will help a bird in need to find a rehabber that is properly licensed.

Working with wildlife is as rewarding as it is frustrating and heart-breaking. Imagine the joy of bottle feeding a baby raccoon or experiencing a successful release to the wild. Imagine the frustration of having a litter pan spilled within minutes of cleaning a cage or having a baby animal soil or wet your shirt.

Munchkin was a juvenile that got so hungry he found himself trapped in a dumpster at the Tompkins County Recycling Center. A concerned employee of the center brought him to WWW for rearing and release. Rocky the flying squirrel was a juvenile when he was caught by a cat and suffered from several bites.
