I have been on Tybee for over 4 years, moving from Hilton Head in 2017. I love this island so much, and being a part of the Tybee Oaks "family" is amazing. I can truly say I love coming to "work" everyday! I have met so many great people from all around the country (world), and find such happiness in providing a space where people can tap into their creativity and discover the joy that comes from creating art.

I feel so blessed every day. The photo is me and my amazing kids. They inspire me everyday, and are a huge part of my happiness. Our historic building was assembled using the left over shipping crates from materials brought to Fort Screven. The building has served as a garage, a surfboard shaping shop, bicycle sales and rental shop, a woman's clothing store, and even an ice cream/candy ship with retro video games and pinball machines.

What are those little marks on my finished pieces - Those are stilt marks. We apply a clear glaze to your painted items before firing them in the kiln. To insure that the items do not adhere to the shelves, they are placed on metal stilts to keep them elevated. We then grind down any sharp edges with a fine grain stone.
