Virgil Villers is a Norton, Ohio artist who holds a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture. Characterized by elongated shapes, Virgil Villers' sculptures often features playful figures of both human and animal form caught in an interplay of whimsy and allegory. Concern for the environment and the balancing act between man and nature is a reoccurring theme.
Villers has works throughout the United States, but local highlights include his nature inspired sculptures at Kingwood Center Gardens, and his dancing animal sculpture at Akron Children's Hospital. Homecoming is a limited series inspired by the show Twin Peaks. In this series, the artist uses nostalgia to entertain.

We learned long ago that architecture can serve as a vehicle for individual and organizational creativity, self-renewal, and regeneration. So while our facility is itself important as a work of art, the human capital that fills the space gives it life and purpose.
To help them realize their dream of building a "signature home" for the visual arts in Mansfield, the Mansfield Fine Arts Guild turned to architect Don Hisaka then practicing in Cleveland.The result: The Mansfield Art Center, a tribute to simplicity of design and materials, intimacy of scale, and a harmonious relationship with the landscape and surroundings.

Our Intern Program is part of our commitment to students furthering their education by studying the arts and art education at our local universities and colleges. Our intern program responsibilities range in scope to extend each interns view of working within the world of the arts.

George is the Executive Director of The Mansfield Art Center and an active community leader of the arts. Under George's leadership, the Mansfield Art Center is approaching completion of a new education wing and event pavilion. George has an extensive background as a professional artist and arts educator, with an MFA from Wichita State University, a BFA from Florida Atlantic University, Washington State University and Memphis Academy of Art.

The Mansfield Art Center is "Free and Open to All." There is no admission charge to visit the Mansfield Art Center; however, we do appreciate donations. When planning your visit, please keep in mind that our Galleries are closed in between exhibitions for installation. Please look at our Exhibitions Calendar and plan accordingly.
