Report
As a homeowner, there is quite a bit you need to be worried about, especially if your house is an old one with decaying walls. In the basement, things often get overlooked by those living within the home. People only go into the basement to perform a few simple tasks, such as doing laundry or storing goods out of sight.
Property Drainage
Report
Water tends to leak into the basement directly through the walls and floors, which are made of concrete. Concrete, despite being a tough, reliable material, is porous by nature. Water is mixed into cement for hydration, which causes gaps in the material while it is being poured directly into the foundation.
Dry Wells
Report
Gravel is then leveled inside window wells. The area is left clean and in order. Surface drains and leaching fields are a series of catch basins and 4 piping that divert water to dry wells. This is a structure that uses gravity to direct the unwanted water to a place where it won't damage your house.
Hydrostatic Pressure Relief System French Drain
Report
The perimeter of the basement floor is excavated and the resulting trench. Any water permeating the outer wall then drops into the trench, flows to a low point, and is pumped out using a sump pump = dry basement! A French Drain looks like a big deal right? WRONG! E&M Basement Waterproofing experts work incredibly fast to get you back in your basement as soon as possible.
