In the summer of 1959, Ivan's dad, Jerry Inmon, started Inmon Radiator. Knowing their future was somewhere other than Dallas, Texas, Jerry and Scottie packed up their 3 children, enough tools to start his own radiator shop, and a house trailer and headed east. The morning after arriving in Merritt Island he was open for business on the side of Hwy 520, less than a block west of N. Banana River Drive.
