Check the basics. Check the oil. It should be at the proper level and appear clean on the stick. Many technicians recommend an oil change every 3,000 miles, check your owner's manual for guidance. Also check your windshield-wiper blades. If a thunderstorm comes up, you want blades that have not been worn out from the previous winter.
