We are a boutique law firm that provides probate, estate planning, trust administration and legal services across Siskiyou County, with a focus on the Yreka and Mt. Our clients are of utmost importance to us. We strive to lift your legal burdens and give you assurance that your family will be taken care of with an estate plan, or carefully guide you through trust administration or the probate process in a court of law.

You've been an awesome attorney Jennifer and I'm very fortunate that you were the one to help me. You made everything simple for me and made this whole process a million times less stressful for me and just wanted you to know that you've been amazing. Jennifer was such a great help to me when my mother died suddenly in California and I live in Washington.

Who We Are
Report
Peace of mind can come in many different forms. I believe that knowing that you have an estate plan in place should something happen to you is a fundamental building block of that peace. Further, I believe that knowing that you have the help of a person familiar with the ins and outs of a confusing probate legal system allows you to focus on what is important to you, rather than on what your next step should be in a court of law.
What We Do
Report
We believe in taking in the complete picture when determining the direction your matter should move in. By evaluating your needs and desires, the short term and long lasting effects of the options available to you and the most efficient and effective way to accomplish your goal, we make sure you are satisfied with the result.
Estate Planning
Report
California has an estate plan in place for you. It outlines how all of your possessions will be distributed and to whom they will go. However, it bases this distribution on only family and marital relationships. This is rarely all that needs to be considered when it comes to how you want your possessions to be dispersed.
Trust Administration
Report
Administering a living or revocable trust in California is much like probating a will without court involvement. While its grantor or creator is alive, they hold the assets in the trust. They can manage those assets or even liquidate the trust entirely. This is what makes the trust revocable.

When the grantor or creator passes away, the living trust becomes irrevocable, and the successor trustee takes over ownership of the assets contained in the trust.Assets in the living trust don't have to pass through probate because the trust itself did not die. The steps of administering the estate are much the same as when bequests are made through a will, but the court generally does not oversee the process.
Probate
Report
Probate is the court supervised administration of a person's estate and is required when a person dies without a will, or with an estate in excess of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. This process is governed by the California Probate Code. It can be a costly and time consuming process. Typically, the longer a probate case is open, the more fees are charged against the estate.
