Edward Filene was known as the Father of Credit Unions. While traveling in Europe Edward was inspired by the cooperative style banking used and in 1908 he opened the first credit union in the US. His mission was to allow American workers the equal opportunity to secure a loan and save money for a raining day without concerns of costly consumer fees or loan sharks.
During the 30's many banks perished while credit unions thrived. Today there are more than 90 million members to credit unions, all with the same philosophy of people helping people. We first established roots in Webster City operating out of the home of Don and Colleen Follett and serving only the employees of Franklin Manufacturing Company and Arrow Acme Corporation.

Peoples Credit Union is making an upgrade to its credit card program that offers enhanced features. The new credit card will be mailed to all current card holders in Mid-October. Your current terms and credit limit will not be changing; however you will be getting a new card number. You will need to activate your new card before using.
