The mission of Fredericksburg Cooperative preschool is to provide a developmentally appropriate, play-based preschool for 3- and 4-year olds focusing on the whole child. Using a center-based, individual choice model and a thematic curriculum, we support hands-on learning, exploration and the natural curiosity of preschoolers.
Our program focuses on the social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth of children while helping to build positive character traits and strong interpersonal communication skills among our students. Through teaching empathy and encouraging kindness, we celebrate differences and form a caring community of compassionate young learners.

Parent Involvement
Report
A cooperative preschool requires the involvement of the parents to keep the school running. Parents attend monthly meetings, participate in committees and serve (if elected) on the Board of Directors. This enables the students to bridge their home life with their school life. Parents can also use their special skills to enhance the school's curriculum by speaking to the class about their profession, heritage or special talent like music or art.
