I attended the University of Minnesota (95-00) BS obtained, in Minneapolis, then Howard University (00-04) where I obtained my medical degree. Deferred radiology residency from 2004 to 2005 to care for mother. Psychiatry residency - Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina (09-12).
Addiction psychiatry fellowship - University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas - Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship. At UT Southwestern, I learned about treating patients with addiction diagnoses, in conjunction with co-occurring general psychiatric illnesses. An integrated approach is found to provide a more robust effect, in treatment of dually diagnosed individuals, where the patient as a whole is considered.
