Porter by standard description is a rich, sweet, opaque ale. Porter by Legend standards exceed these parameters, for its flavors are sharp and elevated. We generously added dark malts to this brew, including Caramel and Chocolate malts. By blending in natural cocoa, this brew exudes a strong choco-nose and a forward dark chocolate flavor.
German Tettenang hops are also added for a clean balancing bitterness. Expect a dark black beer with a rich and sweet aromatic presence. Available in 22 ounce bottles and draft. In 1994, Tom Martin opened the little Tasting Room/Pub off of an old gravel road called West 6th Street in Richmond's Historic Old Manchester District. Serving Legend Beer and a short list of sandwiches along with pub fries, the small pub became a popular fixture for the city's night life scene. Today we have grown into a full size 180 seat Restaurant with a 200 seat Deck and small Beer Garden.
Spicy hops blend with hand-picked flavors of coriander and orange peel in our winterized take on the classic Belgian witbier. This brew starts with a mash of Belgian malts and wheat and finishes rich and sweet-bodied with a tangy crispness and flavors of banana, pear, and bubblegum. Our mission is to bring to our customers the finest and freshest brews as flavorful alternatives to mass-marketed mainstream products. We're one of the few craft breweries in this region producing both lagers and ales, which require different yeasts and maturation conditions. All Legend beers are unpasteurized and made from only two-row and specialty barley malt, hops, water and yeast.
