Report
I am the principal of Mountain Empire Legal Services and the president of Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory. My family's business has been in Marion, VA for 175 years. I began practicing law in 2012 and formed Mountain Empire Legal Services in 2016. Though I have worked in the funeral home for my whole life, I had not worked in the business full time until my father was diagnosed with cancer in 2015.

Estate Planning
Report
Mountain Empire Legal Services is committed to helping individuals and families throughout Virginia plan for their future. One of the greatest inaccuracies that we have come across when discussing estate planning is that you do not need a plan unless you have a lot of money. Our philosophy is that it does not matter how much you have, but it matters that what you do have benefits your loved ones.
Elder Law
Report
More and more Americans are faced with the crippling costs of nursing home care. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reports the national average cost for a private room as over $80,000 per year. Though no one wants to consider the possibility of spending time in a long term care facility, the reality is that in 70% of married couples, at least one spouse will be admitted for long term care during their lives.
