Our studio is home to eight pottery wheels, one slab roller, and three kilns where novices and veterans alike can create pieces and expand their personal collections.

What We Do

Founded by Audra Doughty in 2013, Mud Queen Pottery has grown to showcase artists and foster a creative environment where you can get your hands dirty and explore clay. We are a community studio and gallery featuring artists and artisans from central Pennsylvania and elsewhere. Everything here has been created and refined by artisans and artists, local and abroad, who have unique styles and identities.

This class lasts approximately one hour and 30 minutes. Please bring a towel for your lap. In an introductory class, you will learn the basics of throwing pottery. We will focus on centering the clay, compressing the bottoms of your pots and pulling up the wall to form a cylinder. You will make a cup and a bowl.

Our studio is a full time professional potters studio, and a very small business. We work hard to provide great classes for beginners as well as those with experience, while also making pottery that we sell in our retail space and online shop.
Because we are a small business and make all our own inventory, teach classes, and take care of all the studio work that comes with keeping up with a small pottery studio, we just don't have the time to sit by the phone or at the computer.We can give some time to questions that haven't been covered below by email Tuesdays through Fridays 10am-5pm.
